The portable network graphic (PNG) is still the best image format for web design and now glitches and compatibility issues can be a thing of the past, according to one expert.
PNGs have compatibility problems with early versions of Microsoft's popular internet browser Internet Explorer, but practicalecommerce.com says a new web design product can overcome compatibility issues.
The website points to the Unit Interactive script as the best way to solve web design flaws because of the Internet Explorer glitch.
Practicalecommerce.com states: "Thanks to a great script from Unit Interactive, you can mostly overcome Internet Explorer's PNG weaknesses and use the PNG in many aspects of your design without compromising cross browser compatibility."
It continues to point out why PNGs are superior to other image formats, such as the graphics interchange format (GIF), which the site says has lower-image quality, worse transparency and bigger and therefore less useable file sizes.
Facebook has recently introduced Open ID as its relying party which is part of the social networking site's web design reforms.
