Top tips for e-commerce registration practices
Visitor Conversion

Online businesses that require consumers to register before they make a purchase should consider listing the benefits of doing so, according to Econsultancy senior reporter Graham Charlton.
He explained that e-commerce retailers may be more likely to make a favourable impression on customers if they explain benefits such as faster checkout, personalised offers and order tracking before users are required to fill in a form.
The expert also recommended making it as easy as possible for web users to register by refraining from using lengthy forms that might be off-putting for the consumer.
He commented: "A simple, well-designed and intuitive registration form is essential. Better still if the registration can be blended into the checkout process."
Forrester Research advised e-retailers to display vital policy information in prominent locations on their websites and during the checkout process in order to enhance conversion rates in an analysis report published earlier this year.
