The announcement that Google could be about to begin favouring quicker websites over slower ones with regards to AdWords is bad news for the latter, it has been claimed.

Google decided to make the move after recording a 20 per cent drop in traffic at websites that are half a second slower than their rivals and web host UKFast is warning that it is more important than ever that companies make sure their sites are quick enough.

"With Google now rewarding sites on faster networks, any business residing on a shared platform or hosting away from the hub of the internet will suffer," remarked managing director Lawrence Jones.

He claimed that Google made its decision as it clearly decided page loading delays adversely affect the experience of internet users.

According to Ross Shannon's HTMLSource, in order to ensure their websites are quick enough, businesses should consider keeping combined file sizes smaller than 30 kilobytes.ADNFCR-1093-ID-19054930-ADNFCR
