Social networks, rich media are 'areas of investment'

Web marketers will likely turn to social networks and rich media as new areas of investment in the coming year, a new survey has suggested.
According to the Adobe Scene7 survey, a number of ecommerce firms are channelling their advertising spend into online marketing efforts.
Some suggest that this shift is due in part to the economic downturn, as online marketing campaigns can quickly be tracked to gauge their success.
All of the top features survey respondents said they planned to add to their websites in the coming year fall under the category of rich media or social networking.
These features include 360-degree spin for enhanced product views, blogs and the addition of consumer feedback and reviews.
E-tailers, manufacturers and media agencies were among the groups surveyed by the software firm.
Adobe's Scene7 solutions are currently used by US retailers Macy's, Lands' End, Office Depot, Polo Ralph Lauren and Williams Sonoma, as well as UK retailer Harrods.
