Customer satisfaction high at Amazon, Play.com
E-commerce
23 December 2008
A new study ranking customer satisfaction levels at the top 30 UK e-commerce sites has placed Amazon.co.uk and Play.com in joint first position.
The two websites scored 78 out of a total of 100, with the research by ForeSee Results being based on responses to a survey conducted in November and December this year.
According to the report, the top ten was rounded off by eBay UK, Apple iTunes UK, Screwfix Direct, QVC UK, eBuyer, ASOS and Argos.
The average score across all e-commerce sites was 67, a slight improvement over last year's figure of 66.
"As offline sales slow, the online channel has proven to be a bright spot in the retail economy, meaning that retail websites are more important than ever," stated president and chief executive of ForeSee Larry Freed.
E-commerce sites in the UK are expected to take nearly £104 million in sales on Christmas Day alone, a recent IMRG report predicted.
