Popular social network Facebook now sees 15 million of its users access the website via a mobile device, internet marketing executives may like to note.
Writing on the Facebook blog, mobile engineer Wayne Chang noted that this represents a sharp rise from the five million mobile users recorded at the beginning of the year.
Another popular feature of the site is the ability to comment on others' status updates, something that was introduced relatively recently and saw nearly one million such comments posted during the first 24 hours.
Mr Chang remarked: "As people on Facebook share more and more information each day, status updates have become one of the most popular ways for people to connect quickly and easily on the site."
The website saw particularly high engagement on the part of users during the US election - about 5.4 million American members clicked on the official 'I Voted' button by the close of polling last week, according to Facebook marketing director Randi Zuckerberg.
