Adobe Systems chief technology officer Kevin Lynch has spoken about the company's efforts to make Flash web content search engine-friendly at a recent developer event.
He told the AJAXWorld RIA Conference & Expo in California that Adobe is currently working on a technology called Ichabod, which converts Flash content into data that could potentially be indexed by search engines, reports InfoWorld.
The platform works by using a version of Flash Player that does not have a user interface attached to it and is capable of performing actions within rich media content and submitting this information to search engines.
Adobe said earlier this year that it has teamed up with Yahoo! and Google to allow Flash content to be indexed without requiring developers to amend existing content.
If the Ichabod technology is completed and is proven to be successful, it could help companies to make their Flash websites more findable through search engine optimisation.
