Security software provider Trend Micro is preparing to launch an internet browser for the Apple iPhone, according to reports.
Raimund Genes, chief technology officer at the company, told Arabian Business that the browser will initially be available for business customers in beta format.
While it has no official name, the browser is dubbed the "safe web browser" by staff at the firm, Mr Genes said, going on to add that there has been much interest in the product from customers.
However, according to the Touch Podium blog, it is unlikely that Apple would allow such as browser to be added to its iPhone Apps Store as the product would effectively be a competitor to its own Safari mobile browser.
The news follows the alpha release of a mobile version of Firefox by Mozilla, which aims to offer much of the same functionality as the original desktop browser for mobile users while also incorporating some brand new features.
