Travel firms 'concentrating on SEO'

Internet Marketing

18 September 2008

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is becoming more of a priority for firms within the travel industry, a new study has found.

Whatsonwhen and Travolution surveyed just under 90 businesses in the sector and discovered approximately 66 per cent of them are increasing spending in this area.

It is possible that some of the money for this will come from reduced spending on banner ads, with 21 per cent of respondents looking to cut down on this marketing field.

But some of the extra cash will likely come from increased online marketing budgets, with 50 per cent of companies looking to raise the amount they are spending on online advertising.

The adword sector would appear to be another beneficiary of this, with 46 per cent of the travel firms claiming they are to pump more cash into this area.

Earlier this week, Businesszone.co.uk offered advice on carrying out e-mail marketing campaigns and suggested simplicity and relevancy are the keys to success.ADNFCR-1093-ID-18786604-ADNFCR
