Google continues to dominate US searches
Search Engines

US web users made Google their search engine of choice for more than seven in ten queries in July, according to Hitwise.
The research company said that Google took a 70.77 per cent share of the US search market last month, representing a ten per cent year-on-year increase and a two per cent rise compared with June.
Heather Dougherty of Hitwise said that this success may be reflected in the continuing popularity of Google's other sites among internet users, stating: "Looking back over the past 13 months, in addition to the growing share of searches, traffic to Google has continued to increase."
Yahoo! was found to account for 18.65 per cent of searches, with MSN Search and Ask taking third and fourth place respectively.
Google's revenues grew by 39 per cent during the last quarter, the search engine announced last month.
It said this could be attributed to strong international growth and high visitor numbers for its network of websites.
