An online video advertising boom is on its way, executives have said.
Speaking at the Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit this week, they claimed it was only inexperienced creative and sales staff, which have so far limited its growth.
Reuters reported chairman and chief executive of ad company, Publicis, Maurice Levy saying: "What you will see with online advertising and video advertising is what you have seen with print and TV advertising, which is a progressive improvement."
Research by analyst, Forrester, found US marketers had only spent 2.6 per cent of their budget last year on interactive marketing
Saul Klein, partner, internet venture capital firm, Index Ventures, told Reuters he thought publishers are still unclear on how to sell video advertising and its "ad serving technology, tracking and campaign management technology is still pretty immature".
In 2007, the digital marketing sector grew by 23.3 per cent, research by media communications agency, Carat, has shown, although it is expected to slow to 18 per cent this year.
