Surfers seek out films

Internet users want to be able to download DVD quality films from future broadband services, according to a new survey.
The research was conducted by broadbandchoices.co.uk and found that over 60 per cent said getting films in five minutes would be the most interesting application.
Michael Phillips, product director, said the results showed people wanted current services that they spend the least time using to improve.
"It could be that current services are not at a high enough standard to warrant utilising video services. If speeds were improved, consumers are more likely to use broadband to watch TV and/or download films," he commented.
The telecoms industry and Ofcom are currently discussing how to upgrade the provision of broadband to the UK.
New fibre networks are expensive to introduce and BT plans to introduce ADSL2+ and offer speeds up to 24Mbps.
